The meeting specifically discussed issues related to organizing the Division IV Ice Hockey World Championship, which will take place in Armenia from April 12 to April 20. The championship will feature 15 matches with the participation of teams from Armenia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Karen Giloyan, President of the Armenian National Ice Hockey Federation Vahram Sargsyan, and other commission members, including representatives from the Ministries of Health and Internal Affairs, the Civil Aviation Committee, the Public Television and Radio Company, sports organizations, and other entities.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the importance of organizing the tournament at a high level, drawing on Armenia’s successful experience in hosting major international sports events.
The minister also highlighted the priority of uniting efforts to ensure the timely and proper organization of all necessary preparations.
The issue of broadcasting was also discussed: all matches of the Division IV Ice Hockey World Championship will be aired on the “Fast Sport” channel, which is broadcast via the public multiplex.
Key topics addressed included ensuring safety conditions, emergency medical services, the tournament’s ticketing policy, the creation of fan zones in various parts of the city for supporters, and other important aspects.
Additionally, the need to ensure proper preparation for Armenia’s national ice hockey team through training camps was discussed.
