The head coach and forward of the new AHL club spoke about the formation of the squad and shared his expectations from the third season of the Armenian Hockey League.
- You took over the management of the team and during the pre-season you fulfil several functions at once: general manager, head coach, player. - Yes, I took on that responsibility. I solved questions on the formation of the squad together with the league management. The team will mostly consist of former Falcons and Sharks hockey players, but there will be some new names. First of all, we emphasised on Armenian hockey players and those players who have Armenian roots.
- Nobody knows what to expect from the BKMA in the new season. - Despite the fact that the team is new, it will quietly enter the AHL pace. I think it won't be easy for any of the current teams to play us.
- Can you call the team a title contender? - I can only say that the BKMA will definitely fight for the championship.
- What do you expect from the third season of the AHL, which will be held on the eve of the Armenian national team's participation in the World Championship? - The upcoming season is very important for the development of Armenian hockey. Firstly, there will be what we have been waiting for for a long time - power play. It will add entertainment and pace to the game. The speeds should be higher so that you don't get nailed to the board. And I would also like to say that it's very good that new names and new hockey players appear in the league every year. Only due to this the league can grow and create a base for the Armenian national team, which after 15 years will play again at the World Championship at home.
